The holidays can be the hardest time of year for families already under strain. In November and December 2024, Good Neighbor Days brought schools, churches and nonprofits across Miami and South Florida together to make the season brighter for their neighbors.

Schools at the center of the community

Much of the season's service happened at local public schools, where Love Has No Limits and the school district joined forces to bring holiday cheer to families.

At Kinloch Park Middle School, the principal welcomed parents to a morning community event they had been waiting for. At a nearby elementary school, Renuevo Church volunteers spent the day on the campus grounds. The principal thanked them "for making the outside of our school just as beautiful as the inside."

These partnerships are at the heart of the Next Generation initiative. When a church commits to a local school, students, families and teachers gain a neighbor who shows up all year, not only at the holidays.

Feeding families and restoring hope

Across Miami, churches turned Good Neighbor Days into food distributions for families in need. "We're here today in Miami feeding families, doing God's work," one volunteer said, "and it feels amazing."

Other events focused on women going through the hardest seasons of their lives. Volunteers partnered with Safe Families, a local nonprofit, to host an evening for single mothers who had been through very difficult situations. "The whole point of tonight is to show them that there's still hope," an organizer said.

At Glory House, which provides long-term restoration for adult women who have survived sex trafficking, churches served residents a day of celebration. "The holidays can be hard, so today is just such a day of joy," a Glory House leader said. "We're so grateful to Love Has No Limits and all the incredible churches serving today, so that they can really feel the love of community."

A year of serving together

The holiday season closed out a full year of work across the region. In 2024, 464 South Florida organizations, including 315 churches and 45 schools, partnered through Love Has No Limits to serve 73,470 families across 370 serve site activations.
